A retrospective of the information event Refugees go Solar+

Last week, the information day for the Refugees go Solar+ (RGS+) program took place - and it certainly won't be the last: The pilot was a great success. Around 40 people traveled to Zuchwil from all over Switzerland.

A big thank you goes to the host Helion at the Zuchwil site. We were allowed to use the company's infrastructure and material for the explanation of the objectives of RGS+ and to make use of a program participant who was able to acquire the minimum requirement for employment as a solar technician at Helion in the past months and is now preparing for a permanent position.

Since the Swiss work culture differs from many other countries in terms of required performance, it was very important for the interested parties to understand the process and conditions for participation in the industry qualification program. Questions could be answered in detail in the respective native language of the participants. The event continued with manual skills, a test construction of a small flat roof system, and a tour of the company.

The vast majority of the participants were interested in a further introduction day in one of the numerous solar companies in the RGS+ program to gain first experiences. We are looking forward to starting the RGS+ season 2022 with these people!
